This arrangement of Stille Nacht or Silent night was dedicated to Betty Garee's grandmother, Florence Custard Burr. This piece has moving eighth notes starting in the bass and working their way up to the middle octaves in a gentle rocking motion indicating safety and reassurance. Moving bass lines and triplet figures spur a climax to the end of the piece when whole tones are superimposed onto the melody and wedded to an ascending bass line meeting with a pianissimo final chord. A must hear for all audiences during the Yuletide season.
