Il Est Ne translates to "He is Born", a traditional French carol, using plucking, thumb damping, and mallets in this moderately fast paced arrangement. The middle section uses only mallets giving the piece an ethereal nuance.  Rolling bass lines test the talents of even the most developed bass ringers. Fast changing keys between phrases and multiple bell effects lead one to the end of the piece before the ear can catch up. It is a level 5 piece.
